Welcome to Essential Brentford's live timeline of all of Brentford's transfer activity this window. We hope to provide you with all the latest gossip, as well as exclusive inside information, as to Brentford's transfer happenings.

Friday, 1st January (2.58pm): RUMOUR - Brentford allegedly consider making an offer for Walsall's Tom Bradshaw. The striker has already netted on 12 occasions this season.

Saturday, 2nd January (8.27am): CONFIRMED - Dean Smith indicates Brentford's intentions to make several signings over the January transfer window. The manager will submit a report to the recruitment team on the areas that need strengthening in the squad.

Monday, 4th January (10.43am): CONFIRMED - Brentford reject an offer from Burnley for defender James Tarkowski. The offer is believed to be around the region of £2.3m.

Monday, 4th January (1.07pm): CONFIRMED - John Swift extends his loan stay with Brentford until the end of the season.

Monday, 4th January (5.14pm): CONFIRMED - Sheffield Wednesday submit offer in the region of £1m for Alan Judge. Brentford reject the offer, as it is nowhere near their evaluation of the player.

Tuesday, 5th January (4.45pm): HIGHLY LIKELY - Brentford enter negotitations with Spanish side Eibar over the possiblity of Jota going out on loan.

Tuesday, 5th January (6.17pm): RUMOUR - Sheffield Wednesday make a double bid for James Tarkowski and Alan Judge in the region of £7.5m.

Wednesday, 6th January (8.44am): RUMOUR - Gillingham's Bradley Dack is attracting interest from Brentford and Ipswich. The midfielder has been involved in 17 goals this season, the most of any League One player.

Wednesday, 6th January (4.52pm): RUMOUR - Brentford track MK Dons' Carl Baker. Leeds are also monitoring the 750K rated midfielder.

Wednesday, 6th January (5.09pm): CONFIRMED - Sheffied Wednesday line up a second bid for Alan Judge. Several clubs continue to track the progress of the Irish midfielder.

Thursday, 7th January (9.19am): CONFIRMED - It is revealed that Jota has been suffering from a calf strain, as well as "personal issues" which the club are trying to help him through. A loan move back to Spain seems like the short-term solution, whilst the winger's long-term future in London seems in doubt.

Thursday, 7th January (3.58pm): CONFIRMED - Mark Warburton's Rangers submit a bid of around £100K for Toumani Diagouraga.

Friday, 8th January (10.17pm): CONFIRMED - Brentford signal their intention to offer Alan Judge an improved contract in order to stave off transfer speculation and keep him at Griffin Park.

Friday, 8th January (12.01pm): RUMOUR - Rangers prepare to make a second bid for Diagouraga. The fee is allegedly in the region of £500K, with one Scottish newspaper suggesting that the deal is nearly wrapped up.

Friday, 8th January (2.31pm): CONFIRMED - Walsall reject a £650K bid from an unnamed Championship club for striker Tom Bradshaw. Brentford are one of the clubs labelled as the mystery bidder, as well as Bristol City and Cardiff.

Friday, 8th January (2.53pm): RUMOUR - Reports emerge that Diagouraga is keen on a move to Rangers. He has worked with Mark Warburton before at Watford, as well as Brentford. Some even suggest that the midfielder is unhappy with the current situation at Griffin Park.

Sunday, 10th January (11.31am): RUMOUR - Brentford allegedly enquire about Leyton orient's Jay Simpson. Sheffield United and Peterborough are also monitoring the player.

Monday, 11th January (10.24am): CONFIRMED - James Tarkowski signals his intention to hold talks with Burnley. However, Brentford are unwilling to accept any bid under £5m for the player.

Monday, 11th January (11.51am): CONFIRMED - Rangers are told that they will have to pay £1m plus add-ons if they wish to secure the signing of Toumani Diagouraga. Rangers' first bid was in the region of £100K.

Monday, 11th January (12.49pm): RUMOUR - Reports emerge suggesting that Diagouraga has submitted a formal transfer request. The midfielder is allegedly keen to link up with Mark Warburton at Rangers.

Monday, 11th January (8.37pm): RUMOUR - Brentford are interested in signing Dundee United's U21 midfielder John Souttar. The hot prospect may be brought in as a replacement shoul Diagouraga leave the club.

Wednesday, 13th January (1.28pm): CONFIRMED - Brentford are told that they will have to splash out £800K if they want to permanently sign striker Marco Djuricin from FC Red Bull Salzburg. Director of Football, Phil Giles, is allegedly very keen on making the move permanent.

Thursday, 14th January (10.18pm): RUMOUR - Brentford are allegedly looking to loan out striker Scott Hogan to Oxford United once his re-habilitation is complete.

Thursday, 14th January (10:58pm): CONFIRMED - Essential Brentford sources reveal that the deal between Brentford and Eibar regarding Jota's loan is complete. The terms of the loan are not yet known.

Friday, 15th January (6.02pm): CONFIRMED - The club release a statement about James Tarkowski's refusal to take place in the match with Burnley. The defender has been linked with a move to Turf Moor and decided that he didn't want to play against the Lancashire club. His punishment will be dealt with internally by the club.

Saturday, 16th January (12.33pm): CONFIRMED - The club announce that Jota will join Eibar on an 18-month loan deal. Brentford have the option to recall the Spaniard in the Summer.

Monday, 18th January (12.43pm): RUMOUR - Burnley have reportedly cooled interest in James Tarkowski. The Clarets are linked with a move for Cardif City centre-back Connolly.

Thursday, 21st January (3.14pm): RUMOUR - Brentford have allegedly spoken to QPR over the possiblity of signing midfielder Diakite.

Friday, 22nd January (9.20am): CONFIRMED - Leeds United have an offer accepted for Rangers target Toumani Diagouraga.

Friday, 22nd January (4.36pm): RUMOUR - As the club prepare to release a statement detailing Diagouraga's transfer to Leeds, rumours suggest that the fee agreed between the two clubs is around £900K.

Friday, 22nd January (5.16pm): CONFIRMED - Brentford make a development squad signing; 18 yearold defender Nathan Fox joining the club from Cray Wanderers.

Monday, 25th January (3.20pm): CONFIRMED - Diagouraga's transfer to Leeds is officially announced by the club. There were delays with the player's personal terms.

Monday, 25th January (4.23pm): CONFIRMED - Tarkowski releases a statement revealing the reasons behind his decision not to play against Burnley. It reveals that he was "frazzled" because of a serious illness to his mother.

Thursday, 28th January (5.39pm): CONFIRMED - Daniel O'Shaughnessy joins FC Midtjylland on loan until the end of the season.

Saturday, 30th January (5.10pm): CONFIRMED - Alan Judge reveals that he will not be leaving Brentford in this transfer window.

Monday, 1st February (11.29am): CONFIRMED - Ryan Williams is released by Brentford. His only appearance came in the 4-0 defeat to Oxford in the League Cup.

Monday, 1st February (11.47am): RUMOUR - Reports suggest that Brentford are interested in signing Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw.

Monday, 1st February (5.42pm): RUMOUR - Brentford are considering making a last minute bid for Wolves centre-back Ebanks-Landell. The Bees would bid £750K for the 23 year-old.

Monday, 1st February (6.16pm): CONFIRMED - James Tarkowski officially signs for Burnley. The fee is in the region of £3million, but will eventually rise to around £6million through instalments and add-ons.
