In the first part of this two-piece article we looked at the ratings of Brentford players according to the most recent version of the loved and widely played football game.
Now we turn our attention to ex-Brentford players, notably the ones who left us this Summer.
Here are the ratings of the Brentford players who left us during the transfer window:
Alex Pritchard (Tottenham) - 71
Andre Gray (Burnley) - 70
Moses Odubajo (Hull City) - 68
Stuart Dallas (Leeds) - 66
Jonathon Douglas (Ipswich) - 66
Will Grigg (Wigan) - 66
Jon Toral (Birmingham) - 66
Chris Long (Burnley) - 63
Not bad, but not great.
When you consider the replacements we brought in, we've certainly improved our squad in terms of rankings.
Andre Gray (70) has been replaced by Vibe (73), Djuricin (70) and Hoffman (68). Obviously many of the ratings across FIFA's database will be wrong, and certain players will be over-valued whilst others are under-valued. However, it is clear that bringing in three strikers who are all of a similar standard is a fantastc achievement for the club.
Pritchard will obviously missed, and one could make the case that his 71 rating should be higher. However, we have replaced him with midfielders such as McEachran (72) and Gogia (69) who are more than capable of chipping in with goals, as well as playing the playmaker role that Alex performed so well in last season.
As for Jonathon Douglas (66), we have purchased both Kerschbaumer (65) and Woods (65) who are more than capable replacements.
The departure of Odubajo (68) was followed with the signing of Colin (69), a replacement who FIFA regard as better than the original. Not bad considering we sold Odubajo for £3m and bought Colin for just £900,000.
All in all, FIFA seem to think that Brentford have improved our squad. In comparison to last season our ratings are through the roof (see Part 1) and the players that we have sold we've done on our own terms.
Once our injury problems ease and we have a fully fit squad again, we should be a match for any team in the Championship. And FIFA agrees.
