Potential Loan Signings: Part 2

We all know how important loan signings are. A good loan signing could be the difference between going up, and hitting the bar in the last minute. Having looked into some of the English players that Brentford (and other Championship clubs) could potentially sign for the upcoming season, we now turn our attention to the foreign talent who could potentially feature in red and white this season.
Joao Teixeira may well be remembered by Brentford fans for his bright, flashy boots and distinct lack of impact on the 2013/14 season. A brief stint which amounted to little was followed up by some excellent performances at the AMEX as he quickly became renowned for his quick feet and precocious ability amongst the Brighton fans. Whilst it seems a return to Griffin Park is unlikely for the little Portuguese, he may be just what we need.
The newest member of the full Everton squad is David Henen. David’s story is a strange one and involves his being transferred 5 times between 4 clubs (Anderlecht, Monaco II, Olympiacos & Everton) in just over a year. The result of all this though is impressive. 15 goals for the Toffees U21 side this season and his being talked about in very high regard by none other than Duncan Ferguson prove him to be a player who is capable of scoring goals wherever he goes; exactly what Brentford need if they are to push for the top 6 once again. The only downside, Roberto Martinez may be looking to give him first-team experience next year, limiting his availability.
A bright prospect for Arsenal's future, Serge Gnabry is a pacey winger
who claimed some Emirates performances towards the beginning of last season following the injury to fellow wide-man Theo Walcott. Originally from Germany, Gnabry was a surprise inclusion in Mesut Ozil’s recent all-time 11, testament to his potential.

Arsenal have quality in abundance though and will surely be looking to challenge for a title next season on the back of two consecutive FA cup wins. This will likely mean Gnabry’s being available on loan.
Yoann Barbet and Andreas Bjelland’s recent signings mean that Brentford have a glut of quality at centre-half. However, some would argue that uncertainty over the futures of Tarkowski and particularly the much-scrutinised Dean mean that the incoming of a defender with particular on-the-ball prowess might be a welcome inclusion, especially given Tony Craig’s recent return to Millwall. A player of this description is Liverpool and Portugal U21 Tiago Ilori who, despite never having broken into the Anfield first XI, appears a real prospect for a team at a lower level.
Gonçalo Paciência, a 20 year-old currently enjoying his time in the Porto B squad, is an out-and-out striker with bags of ability and a real nose for goal. Another Portuguese U21, the marksman scored 14 goals in 35 appearances in an impressive 2013/14 season and previous loan spells point him out as a player the parent club may allow to face real challenges abroad.

Given our current striker situation (Only Gray and Moore are on the books at the moment) we could really do with bringing in a talisman on loan.
21 year-old Amin Younes is a German winger with real creative ability, perhaps the closest player to Pritchard in terms of style. Currently a Borussia Monchengladbach player he has spent the last few seasons on loan at 1. FC Kaiserslautern and impressed greatly, albeit without ever having been a great goal scorer.
An alternative to Gray could well be Barcelona’s youngster Munir El Haddadi. Known as ‘Munir’, the 19 year old has 9 senior goals in 38 performances and has been jumped up through the Spanish junior ranks from U19 since 2014 through to being an integral member of the U21 squad.
The final defensive options are the Italian U21 centre back pairing of both Daniele Rugani and Alessio Romagnoli. Extremely similar players, the two play for Juventus and Roma respectively; in fact their similarities are remarkable and make them utterly interchangeable as concern their viability as potential Bees players. They are both 6’2” in height, 20 years of age and have plenty of senior appearances between them.

Finally, a winger from AC Milan. Simone Verdi has recently signed from Torino from where he was sent out on loan two years in a row to Stabia and then Empoli. More than 100 Serie A matches under his belt mean that he is a player who would be comfortable in the Championship and who might give Brentford a real edge to their counter-attacking play, should that be a tactic the management team choose to pursue.
The Bees have had a lot of recent success in the loan market in the likes of Pritchard, Judge and Trotta (for all but one kick). Whoever comes through the doors of Griffin Park for the 2015/16 season, we can trust that they will add an extra dimension to an already excellent squad.
